Sometimes we believe we can perform important procedures.
The naturalization process is one of those procedures that must be followed step by step,
trying not to make mistakes to achieve a satisfactory result.
Therefore, legal support will give confidence in the process to achieve naturalization.
In addition, a companion who knows each of the steps will make the process easier because
errors or omissions will be avoided.
The naturalization process consists of 10 steps:
- Determine if you are already a U.S. citizen. If you are not a U.S.citizen by birth, or you did not acquire or derive U.S. citizenship from your parent(s) automatically after birth, go to the next step.
- Determine if you are eligible to become a U.S. citizen. Review the naturalization eligibility worksheet to help you decide if you are eligible to apply for naturalization.
- Prepare your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Read the instructions to complete the Form.
- Collect the necessary documents to demonstrate your eligibility for naturalization. If you reside outside the United States, get 2 passport-style photos taken. Use the documents checklist (available online) to make sure you collectall the required documents.

If USCIS approved your Form N-400, in step 7, you may be ableto participate in a naturalization ceremony on the same day as your interview. - Take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States.
